From carpet to wood to tile and more, for the past nine years a team of Kelowna specialists have been helping their clients with all their flooring needs.

Co-owners Rebecca White and Peter Kowalski of Kelowna Floors evolved their business after flipping homes. Now, their team of professionals has grown into 10 members each with their own unique area of expertise.

Chris Stables is the newest sales associate, transitioning from a 30-year career in tile installation. His favourite part about the job is working with customers and is using his knowledge of the industry on the sales side, especially his skills around waterproofing and his attention to detail.

“There’s quite a lot of creativity that goes into flooring, especially with tile. There’s quite a lot of conversations that go on,” Stables said. “There’s so much choice with the products, you can pretty much do anything.”

Luc Jacobson, sales member with an expertise in commercial flooring, said there’s an unlimited number of options to choose from whether it be wood, stone, tile, carpet and more.

Known for his wry sense of humour keeping his co-workers laughing, sales associate Len Blackstock has 50 years of experience in the industry. He remembers when first starting out, flooring was mostly carpet and sheet vinyl. Blackstock watched the industry drastically evolve and has a trove of knowledge in retail.

He described himself as a “personable guy” who likes talking to people.

The team makes the work environment fun, co-owner Kowalski said.

“It’s like a family now,” he said. “It’s nice to support one another.”

Co-owner White is also an interior decorator and can assist if customers need help starting the project. The sales team also has experts in helping clients find the right products for their lifestyles.

Kelowna Floors serves everyone, specializing in custom homes and commercial projects but they also take on small projects, White said.

The progress begins after sample selections are made, then the team will conduct a complimentary measure of the space followed up with pricing and then installation.
