Renting helps get the job done

Do you need equipment for a job around the house or maybe a construction project? If so, United Rentals has you covered.

The Kamloops rental store, a local company with world-wide connections, is part of the largest rental company in North America and can provide its customers with the tools and knowledge everyone from homeowners to large contractors need to get the job done right. With its vast array of tools and other rental equipment, as well as its well-trained and knowledgeable staff, United can provide reasonably-priced rentals that will save its customers the expense of buying equipment, using it once or twice and then having to find a place to store it after the job is done.

In many cases, renting is a cheaper option, even if the tool needs to be used several times. According to Barry Laing, Area General Manager for United Rentals in Kamloops, the cost is just one of the advantages of renting. United provides tools and equipment that are kept in tip-top condition, are well-maintained, cleaned and sanitized after each use, and can be delivered directly to the customer at the job site.

United Rentals equipment is replaced regularly so customers do not have to worry about the tool they need being old or out of date. In fact, United Rentals is one of the largest suppliers of used tools in the world — the chain turns over its equipment on average every four to five years, says Laing.

Renting is also cost-effective for the customer because are no maintenance costs — you only pay for the equipment you need, when you need it. There is no upfront ownership cost or depreciation and all equipment is readily available. As for the savings, they can be substantial too. In the case of larger equipment; the cost outlay could run in the thousands of dollars if a large piece of equipment for a job site has to be purchased.

At United, safety is paramount, so it is not just equipment that is available to customers. The company also provides its clients — particularly companies with larger construction projects and sites where large equipment is used — accredited training through its United Academy, one of the largest private construction training programs in the country.

The academy provides the training and knowledge needed by workers on job sites who operate large machinery and need the training to work on the site. United has operated its training academy for the last six years.

With the current construction boom in the Kamloops area, business has been brisk for United Rentals, says Laing. He points not only to the boom in local residential and corporate construction but also to area pipeline work and development at the nearby Highland Valley Copper Mine.

So when you need to get the job done—no matter how big or small—renting can be the cost-effective answer to your needs.
