Fun, Sun and Water in the Loops

Get summer started with boat rentals, boat moorage, fishing, chartered tours and beach fun at Bruker Marina and Beach Club

As we all wait with anticipation for the temperature to rise and the lakes to warm, outdoor fun on the water and beach is top of mind.
Those sun drenched weekends  and summer holidays will be here before we know it, so it’s time to start planning where to best  spend those lazy days of summer boating, fishing, paddle boarding, playing and lounging. The Thompson region could be just the place to set down your summer roots.
Bruker Marina & Beach Club, on Kamloops Lake at the Tobiano Resort offers much more than its name implies.  They have been the complete Kamloops Lake water sport center since 2012.
“Located only 20 minutes from Kamloops makes it a short trip to all your water sport fun,” says Kerry Wiebe, general manager of Bruker Marina. “With services ranging from the newly expanded 220 slip marina that will handle all sizes, makes, models and styles from sail boats to power boats from 10 feet to 40 feet. We accommodate all.”
Owning a boat isn’t necessary, as Bruker offers double deck pontoon funships with slides, high end tournament surf boats and fishing boats.

If you’re not sure of the area or where to best dip in your fishing line, Bruker offers fishing charters along with ski, wakeboard and surfing lessons. If you’re worried about driving a boat, but want family and friends to enjoy a day on the lake, you can hire a driver for the day. Drivers will even help coach the kids in skiing or tubing, says Wiebe.
Paddle sport rentals are abundant including stand up paddle boards (SUP), kayaks, top riders, peddle boats, disc tubes and more. The beach club supplies Adirondack beach chairs, lounges, picnic tables, updated kids climbing and playground equipment, volleyball nets, super-size Jenga and Connect Four games. The floating candy store and Dockside Grille serves hamburgers, hotdogs and French fries right on the docks.
Of course, there is the huge marina that accommodates all sizes of boats. “Water attenuators keep your boat resting calmly in its berth,” says Wiebe. Nightly, monthly or annual rates are available with annual moorage including year-round, 24 hr. access, parking pass, off-season storage, yacht club service, boat inspection, launch assistance and mooring assistance.
The pro shop is fully stocked with rental fleet equipment providing a great opportunity to try before you buy, or to try something new without the cost of purchasing. Accessories such surf boards, wake boards, wake skate, air chairs, tubes and knee boards and more are available to rent or purchase.
In keeping with the fun, Bruker has played host for many birthday parties, weddings, stag parties, anniversaries and family reunions.
“The four-star service excellence awards attest to the fact that we strive for customer satisfaction.  We truly have something for everyone,” says Wiebe.
