iN VIDEO: RCMP investigating West Kelowna golf course melee
To editor,
As a long time golfer/Club member, I can not ever remember a period of time where there has been such a disregard for golf etiquette and just plain old disrespect for fellow players.
Since Covid, the game of golf has skyrocketed in popularity with a new generation of players who simply have not studied the time honoured rules of the game. They show up in jeans and T-shirts, they play by their own set of rules and playing their music loud and proud with an attitude of F-you! Generally, I believe, this is more evident at public courses that have a lower green fee rate than the higher rate courses that can afford on course marshalling to keep the game enjoyable for all patrons.
We have seen a rise in aggressive behavior in all facets of our communities whether it's a sports outing (man blows air horn in someone's face at hockey game) or simply taking your family for a peaceful picnic at the beach and having it disrupted by a drunken group who cares only about their moment.
My question is "What made us deviate from common respect for each other to this "ALL ABOUT ME" behavior?
It seems we are now living in a new era where we no longer share mutual respect to where it's accepted to simply behave like a BULLY!
My 2 cents.

iN RESPONSE to Monday's newsletter editorial asking if you have an appetite for a new centrist party in BC
Why do we need parties at all. A person is elected to represent an area not a party. If votes were secret ballot a representative could vote for what is best for his people and not be fired by the party. China has a no party system and they all work together for the good of the country. — Doc Holloway
California governor urges Canadians to ignore Trump, come back for sand, sun and wine
No Governor, not happening for a lot of us Canadians. We can't bring our phones, the 'hate Trump' rhetoric would get us banned at the border. If we do get through there is a chance we will be tossed in the clink for a day or two trying to come home whilst investigations are done. And frankly, most of all it is totally all you American's fault the idiot is in power and it's up to all you Americans to do something about it. Til then I will stick to the sun and sand in beautiful BC. And we Canadians are finding out that we actually are doing all right without your country or people. Get rid of him and we will come back! — Helen Price, via iNFOnews.ca

The guy has been homeless. I get that it’s a huge pain in the ass that he keeps stealing stuff, but the idea that he can manage his life well enough to pay back the debt is ridiculous. Better to just give him the time on the other side of the fence. — William Mastop, via iNFOnews.ca
