OPINION
Just six months ago, President Donald Trump said he would “stop the chaos in the Middle East…prevent world war three”. Last week, President Trump ordered the bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites…in Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan…all without the knowledge and approval of the U.S. Congress.
As usual with everything Donald Trump does…there are more questions than answers…more craftily worded comments than simple truthful explanations.
Unless you’re a fly on the wall when Donald Trump is talking privately…on the phone, in the Oval Office…anywhere…you can never really know what was said…or what deal he made…and with whom.

Forget for a moment that Donald Trump is a pathological liar…he has been caught in more lies than any politician in the history of the U.S. Forget, too, that he only cares about himself. He has no friends…just whores…people who have sold their souls…and people he can bully or has something on.
Ask yourself, what would possess the president of the U.S. to bomb Iran? Trump said it was because Iran would have a nuclear bomb capability. Whether Iran had uranium enriched to 60 percent or something more or less…we’ll likely never know. A bomb requires uranium enriched to a 90 percent level.
Literally minutes after the bombs were dropped and missiles fired from U.S., submarines, Trump said the mission was a “spectacular success’…yeah, why wait for verification to lie.
Trump announced by tweet a ceasefire between Iran and Israel…saying it would last “forever”. I have never served as a Secretary of State, a leader of a country, or the Director of the C.I.A., but I can assure you that this ceasefire will not last forever…that’s a long time…and this is the Middle East.
Questions remain…where and when will Iran retaliate against the U.S. weeks, months…next year. Don’t think for a moment that a few missiles fired at a U.S, base in Qatar is retaliation. Will there be unannounced targets in other nations…terrorism in the U.S.? You’ll never hear anything from the Trump Administration…that would make Trump look bad…and ego won’t let that happen.
The U.S. Congress - pretty much impotent during the Trump Administration - wasn’t consulted about bombing Iran. As long as Republicans are in leadership in the House and Senate…nothing of consequence will be done to keep Trump and America between the rails. Trump is the proverbial loose cannon.
Just in as I’m writing this: the Defense Intelligence Agency’s initial report says the sites were not damaged as much as some administration officials had hoped, and that Iran retains control of almost all of its nuclear material. The DIA says bombings delayed Iran’s nuclear weapon capability by no more than six months. Initial intelligence assessments by Israel confirm the DIA report.
The White House took just minutes to respond. Karoline Leavitt, White House press secretary, said it the DIA report was “flat-out wrong,” concluding it was a clear attempt to demean President Trump.
“Everyone knows what happens when you drop 14 30,000-pound bombs perfectly on their targets: total obliteration,” explained Leavitt. And so it goes…careless and unauthorized bombings of another nation, immediate hyperbole on the success of the mission, followed by fact…followed by lies.
If you’re worried about what happens next…that’s not unfounded. You have a bully who likes to play war games who not only never served in the military but avoided it, surrounded by unqualified appointees who care more about protecting the boss than, well, anything else. What could go wrong?
I served in the U.S. Air Force for four years…worked with a four-star general…the one thing we knew: wars are easier to start than end. No one in Trump’s world knows that.
