KELOWNA – An entire building at UBC Okanagan will be transformed into a zombie-filled nightmare at the Asian Student Association’s Haunted House next Friday.

The second annual haunted house is organized by the president of the Association Peter Teng with help from the UBCO student union and the UBCO residency advisors.

UBCO student union vice president finance Ryan Kaila says the event will follow in the spooky footprints of last year’s Halloween event, Nostalgia House, a cartoon themed haunted house.

“It’s going to be like that but much bigger,” Kaila says. “It’s going to be a zombie theme and two whole floors of the EME building.”

To prepare for the one night only event, the Association have brought in actors from the theatre club and professional makeup artists. They have props, professional lighting and fog machines to help put the fear back into Halloween.

“We’re going to try to make this as big and as professional as we can,” he says.

A tamed down version will be open for kids from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and after that, the building will be open to anyone with the guts to walk through the doors.

Admission is $5 and open to anyone.
