REVELSTOKE – This holiday weekend, thrill seekers and outdoor enthusiasts alike can celebrate the reopening of the Pipe Mountain rollercoaster at Revelstoke Mountain Resort.

This single-track ride peaks at 42 kilometres per hour and stretches 1.4 km from the Revelation Lodge to the Village Plaza, according to a media release from the resort.

Riders sit in a single cart and can control the speed of the ride, much different than a traditional rollercoaster.

Staff will keep the attraction rolling on for extended hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. over the Victoria Day weekend. Starting tomorrow, May 20, the rollercoaster is open seven days a week until Oct. 31.

In the Youtube video, the resort boast the ride has a 915 feet of vertical drop.

Don't risk losing a smartphone by trying to capture the ride on video. Resort staff recommend using a chest harness or head mount for video recording devices.

Tickets for one adult ride start at $25 and can be purchased online.
