After a balmy week, the weather in Kamloops and the Okanagan is turning colder with a good chance that the snow that falls this weekend will stick around.
Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 11 Celsius in Penticton today, Dec. 2, after a record-breaking day yesterday where the daytime high reached 22.5 C.

Kelowna and Vernon are expected to reach 9 C today, while the daytime high in Kamloops will be a bit cooler at 6 C, according to the Environment Canada forecast.
More seasonal temperatures are on the way with subzero lows overnight tonight and snow is expected to accumulate on Saturday. Two to four centimetres are possible in the Okanagan that day but only one to two cm are forecast for Kamloops, according to AccuWeather.com.
Kamloops could have a daytime high of 2 C on Saturday with an overnight low Sunday morning of -5 C so there could be rain mixed with snow on Saturday.
The Okanagan could dip to -6 C on both Saturday and Sunday mornings, with highs both days near the freezing level so snow is much more likely to need shovelling.
The forecast is for daytime highs of 2 C and overnight lows of -2 C early next week.
