WEST KELOWNA - He's the head guy, the YMCA Operations Manager for Silver Lake Camp, and he's going to be featured on the TV show, Undercover Boss Canada.
Stu McQueen is a West Kelowna resident and employee of the YMCA who was chosen to appear on the W Networks top rated series airing Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. PT.
YMCA of Okanagan was one of four locations in Canada chosen that made the final episode, along with two centres with the YMCA of Greater Vancouver and YMCA of Calgary.
The reality show follows executives who leave the comfort of their offices to become a frontline worker, using a covert disguise and a convincing back story. Once positioned, they work alongside employees and discover the effect their decisions have had on others, how the company is perceived and who the unsung heroes of the workplace are. The journey can be quite emotional.
As registered charities themselves, each YMCA Member Association has a CEO but they are known well and easily recognized within their own Association. An opportunity was created to have Scott Haldane, President & CEO of YMCA Canada go undercover and learn on behalf of local Member Association CEOs and the broader Canadian YMCA Federation.
For those who miss the live broadcast, the Kelowna Family YMCA will air the episode Oct 18, 9 a.m. at 375 Hartman Road.
