A power outage that affected Penticton's entire south end has FortisBC scratching their heads.
The power utility company is still investigating why on Wednesday thousands of south-end customers could not turn on their televisions and laptops.
A FortisBC substation on Waterford Avenue had turned off due to an unknown event around 4 p.m. Penticton Fire Rescue responded but were not needed. A FortisBC crew was already working on the problem.
FortisBC spokesperson Michael Allison said a motor-vehicle accident might have caused this. A power pole could have been struck and disrupted the flow of electricity. The company is continuing to investigate.
