KAMLOOPS - A world-renowned food eating challenge master waved the white flag at Reubin's Diner in Kamloops.

Randy Santel has a YouTube following of around 767,000, and has successfully completed 739 food eating challenges all around the globe. He met his match at the local Kamloops diner.

Reubin's Diner is locally known for its authentic sandwiches and boasts a food challenge that few have completed. The Reubinator, usually a seven-pound sandwich, was made a little heartier for the hungry competitor, weighing in between eight to nine pounds, according to Anthony Butke, who works at the diner.

Piled high with ham, bacon, pastrami, pork tenderloin, eggs, sauerkraut, tomatoes, cheddar, mozzarella, and some pickles, 150 have attempted to take down the sandwich. Only four polished it off within the allotted hour.

“He wasn’t that close. He made the hour last pretty long. Some people beat it in 23 minutes,” says Butke.

Losers have to write their name on the Reubin’s wall of shame and have to pay for the food they couldn't complete.

Santel likes to listen to girly pop music like Taylor Swift and Katy Perry while he eats, according to a video on his YouTube channel.

He didn't appear to have any headphones while completing the challenge. Maybe listening to Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” would’ve helped him push through.
