The visionary work of two legendary pop artists will be part of the next showcase at the Kelowna Art Gallery.
As the name of the exhibit suggests, From Warhol to Banksy will feature work from artists Andy Warhol and Banksy.
The common theme of the exhibit will be pop art, a movement Warhol was instrumental in popularizing beginning in the 1960s.
“We’re thrilled to present this collection of pop art in Kelowna,” Nataley Nagy, executive director of the gallery, said in a press release.

Pop art challenges the norms of consumerism, social consciousness, gallery says, adding that activism is no longer just a phenomenon of the 1960s.
“Many people already have a connection with these iconic works. Now, visitors will be able to see this art in person — work that they’ve likely only ever viewed online or seen in a magazine," Nagy said.
"It’s going to be a lot of fun for local audiences to explore.”
