UPDATE: WorkSafeBC investigating workplace accident in downtown Kelowna

FILE PHOTO

A workplace incident near the corner of Highway 97 and Richter Street in downtown Kelowna slowed traffic earlier this morning.

Traffic was slow going in the eastbound HOV lane, but RCMP say it's now moving smoothly.

“WorkSafeBC is also on scene and there is no danger to the public,” reads a news release issued by the RCMP just before 8:30 a.m. today, May 17.

RCMP are no longer on the scene.

WorkSafeBC has not immediately responded to a request for comment on the workplace accident.
