Woman hit by train

KAMLOOPS - Police say a woman hit by a train last night is expected to survive.

RCMP Sgt. Edward Preto said in a release the woman was walking along the tracks around 11:21 p.m. near 1901 E Trans Canada Highway when she was hit by a Canadian Pacific train. The woman, in her early 50s, suffered injuries to her upper body and was taken by ambulance to Royal Inland Hospital.

She underwent surgery and is currently listed in stable condition. No other information was released.
