KELOWNA - Police are looking for carjacker after a vehicular theft in Kelowna over the weekend.
According to a press release, Kelowna RCMP responded to a reported carjacking at a hotel on the 1000 block of Harvey Avenue just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7. Officers learned a suspect entered a woman's black 2015 Hyundai Tucson, triggered what sounded like a taser, and told the woman to get out of the car.
The driver exited the vehicle and ran away, turning around to see what appeared to be a firearm in the suspect's hand. The suspect took off in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described a man in his late 20s or early 30s with short balding hair, a wide mouth and a poor complexion. He stands 5'8" tall. During the incident he wore a blue baseball cap, dark coloured jeans and a blue windbreaker.
The stolen vehicle has British Columbia license plates that read HG282D.
