Woman assaulted in downtown Kelowna while on work break

A woman was assaulted in an alleyway in downtown Kelowna on Monday afternoon while she was on a work break.

Officers were called when a 42-year-old woman was attacked in the alley between Ellis Street and St. Paul Street, June 16, while she was on her break from work, according to an RCMP media release. The assault happened between 1 p.m. and 1:25 p.m. and police responded at 1:50 p.m.

Investigators are asking witnesses to the assault to come forward. They are also looking for video footage from the area around the 1440-block of St. Paul Street and the 1400-block of Ellis Street bordered by Bernard Avenue and Doyle Avenue, including the back alleys.

“We are urging anyone who may have seen this incident or captured any relevant video footage — whether from dash cams, security cameras or personal devices to come forward,” Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Allison Konsmo said in the release.

“If you have information or footage and have not yet spoken with police, please contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 and reference file number 2025-33922.”
