Woman allegedly uses bear spray in attempt to rob Kelowna Home Depot

A woman has been arrested after bear spray was used during a robbery attempt at Kelowna's Home Depot.

The Kelowna RCMP responded today, after 2 p.m., when a woman allegedly entered the store and sprayed multiple people in an attempt to steal power tools, according to the RCMP's press release.

"She was detained by staff, one of whom received minor injuries in the altercation," according to the Kelowna RCMP. Police officers arrested the suspect and she is currently in custody.

"Investigators are seeking to hold her in custody for this incident and for her outstanding warrant," according to the RCMP.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or has information which will assist the investigation, is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or remain completely anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by leaving a tip online.
