KELOWNA - Police are looking for witnesses to an accident yesterday which sent a man in a mobility scooter to the hospital.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of a collision between a red Jeep Cherokee and the man at 5:43 p.m. yesterday, Dec. 28 at the intersection of KLO Road and Benvoulin Road, according to a RCMP release. Police say they believe the Jeep was turning left from Benvoulin Road onto KLO Road when it collided with the scooter which was crossing in a marked crosswalk.
The scooter was knocked over by the Jeep. The driver, a Kelowna woman, stayed at the scene.
The man, in his fifties, was taken to the hospital with what police, in a press release, say are non life-threatening injuries.
RCMP are investigating the incident and potential visibility issues that may be a factor.
