Some single riders at Big White Ski Resort have been receiving rude comments about riding alone.
"Over the last few weeks, we have had many single riders reach out to let us know they're receiving some strange looks, rude comments and general uncomfortable behaviour from fellow guests for riding in their personal bubble," Big White Ski Resort senior vice president Michael J. Ballingall said in a Facebook post. "The COVID-19 promise from our resort is to always ride with who you are comfortable with – and some people wish to ride alone."
Ballingall said lift lines can look long but the wait time on most days is under 20 minutes at the busiest lifts.
"This may take a minute or two longer for you to get up the mountain, so let's be kind, be calm, and be safe. After all, we're all in this together," Ballingall said.
Wait lines at the ski resort near Kelowna can be longer between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. which is the busiest part of the day.
