Hazardous winter conditions are expected on the Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass portion of the Trans Canada Highway, Environment Canada is warning motorists.

"A series of disturbances will move across the B.C. Interior today through early Sunday morning bringing significant snowfall to several mountain passes," the meteorological agency said in a press release.

"Rogers Pass will see near 35 centimetres of snowfall accumulations today through early Sunday morning."

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. https://shiftintowinter.ca/ reminds drivers to know before you go. Adjust to winter driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains.

Road conditions are available at www.drivebc.ca.
