As summer comes to an end, it's a quick shift into winter on Southern Interior highways.

A special weather statement has been issued by Environment Canada for the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna and the Coquihalla Highway from Merritt to Kamloops.

Wet flurries are possible at the summit level for both highways, as a cold front crossing the Cariboo reaches the South Thompson and Nicola areas by tomorrow morning, Sept. 13, forecasters say. Freezing levels are expected to drop enough for wet flurries to fall at summit levels, but significant accumulations are not expected.

Freezing levels are expected to rebound somewhat Friday, the statement says.
