LOGAN LAKE - Crews have gotten a handle on a 165-hectare wildfire burning near Logan Lake.

B.C. Wildfire information officer Marla Catherall says the Tunkwa Lake Road wildfire is now 50 per cent contained, and is now classified as held instead of out of control.

"Crews are feeling confident and optimistic about the fire," Catherall says.

Although it is being held now, Catherall says crews are prepared in case winds pick up heading into the long weekend. She adds the fire is smouldering, so no flames are visible.

More than 70 crew members, four pieces of heavy equipment and one helicopter are working on the fire today, May 18.
