A wildfire burning near Three Valley Lake is still mapped at 60 hectares this morning.

Yesterday, The Columbia Shuswap Regional District issued an evacuation order for Three Valley Lake properties, including those bordering the north side of the Trans-Canada Highway.

The Three Valley Lake wildfire, located to the northeast of Highway 1, is still classified as out of control.

An evacuation alert is in place for properties on the west side of the highway. For more information on the evacuation, visit the regional district’s website.

Evacuations were underway last night from the Three Valley Lake area and the Three Valley Gap Chateau.

Two structural protection units, which include crew members and water sprinkling systems, have been deployed to protect infrastructure, according to the regional district.

Taylor MacDonald, B.C. Wildfire Service information officer said there was no growth on the fire overnight.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Trans-Canada Highway is open at this time.
