KELOWNA - The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Kamloops Blazers 3-2 on Friday night, March 26, at Prospera Place in Kelowna in a fast-paced game, taking a 1-0 lead in the first round WHL Playoff series.

The Rockets jumped out to a 3-0 lead with two quick goals in the second period as Dillon Dube and Lucas Johansen scored goals 47 seconds apart. Dube's was a highlight reel goal that saw him grab the puck at centre and make several moves before scoring into the top corner.

Kamloops made it 3-1 in the second and 3-2 midway through the third period, but the Rockets held on for the win.

Kelowna outshot Kamloops 36-21 in the game.

The Rockets and Blazers Round 1 WHL Playoffs series continues on Saturday night at Prospera Place with game two.

The series shifts to Kamloops for games three and four on Tuesday and Wednesday before returning for game five if necessary on Friday, April 1.
