There are many ways to get moving to some lively music this weekend before filling up on turkey and potatoes, and here are just a few fun options.
A free Latin dancing class for everyone to enjoy will be on at Riverside Park in Kamloops where participants can spend almost an hour learning how to salsa to Latin music including salsa, bachata, merengue and cha-cha-cha. Following the lesson, the floor will open up for another hour of dancing.
“Dancing outdoors can be an exhilarating activity,” according to Latin Dancing in the Park. Located at the Riverside Pier in Riverside Park, the lesson starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7.
There are still tickets available for the Matthew Good solo/acoustic performance in Vernon this weekend at the performing arts centre.
Good is a multi-platinum selling Canadian recording artist who began his career as the frontman for the Canadian alternative rock band Matthew Good Band in the 1990s.
Good’s first solo record Avalanche was released in 2003 and the artist has since released 13 full length studio albums, compilations and one live album. Some familiar solo radio singles are Weapon, Born Losers, and Last Parade.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 at the Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre at 3800 33 Street, and tickets can be purchased here.

In Kelowna the popular annual Denim on the Diamond is happening this weekend after a being postponed due to wildfires.
The two-day music festival features a lineup of national, regional and local artists, and includes food trucks, games and adult beverages. The event is for ages 19 and over, with part of the proceeds going to the Central Okanagan Disaster Relief Fund.

Located at City Park at 1600 Abbott Street in downtown Kelowna, the festival runs on Friday, Oct. 6 from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 7 from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Go here to purchase tickets.

A long-time bar in Penticton is hosting a 90s themed party in celebration of the bar's 30th anniversary.
Known for its stunning view of Okanagan Lake, The Barking Parrot will have live music and a 90s pop DJ with cocktails, food and surprises for its 30th birthday bash. Put on your over sized blazers, tie die, scrunchies or anything neon and come party, reads their Facebook post.
