Tomorrow morning presents a rare opportunity to watch Team Canada compete in the FIFA World Cup, and a few venues will be open early in Kamloops and the Okanagan for the special occasion.

The World Cup is a soccer tournament that’s held every four years. Teams only play three matches each unless they advance beyond the round-robin to a knock-out stage. Canada hasn’t qualified for the tournament since 1986.

In Kamloops, the Shark Club will be open at 8 a.m., when Canada's game against Croatia is scheduled to begin, Nov. 27.

Don Cherry’s in Vernon will be open early.

Barn Owl Brewing in Kelowna will be open at 8 a.m.

“We can’t start pouring beer until 9 a.m. but people are free to bring in baked goods and coffee from next door,” said Claire Bruker from Barn Owl.

“The World Cup is about bringing the community together and having fun.”

The Welton Arms, a British-themed pub in Kelowna, will be open early but has already booked up.

The Canadian Brewhouse in Kelowna has no more reservations available, however 40% of the seating is kept open for walk-ins.

In the South Okanagan, the Summerland Arena Banquet Room will be open to the public at 7:45 a.m.

The Kelowna Curling Club, at 551 Recreation Ave.,  will also be hosting a watch party.

And the Barking Parrot in Penticton will be open for the start of the game. There will be bacon and egg breakfasts for $10.
