With St. Patrick's Day on Monday, a weekend of celebrations are planned in the Okanagan and Kamloops.
From pints of green Guinness, Celtic music and fun takes on traditional food, there are many ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Wear green and win prizes at the St. Patty’s Day Party hosted at Shark Club. Located at 285 Lorne Street, those who love to move should come with their dancing shoes and get ready to groove the night away. On Saturday, March 15 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., a St. Patty’s Day Party with prizes, music and oodles of green is guaranteed. For a presale price of $10, or $20 at the venue doors, guests can look forward to free merchandise, free alcoholic shots at midnight and festive party favours all night long. Not only is a night of dancing with a DJ, but there are cash prizes for a best dressed competition. The first place winner will receive $150, second place $100 and third place $50. Join Red Collar Brewing and Gin Lane at 355 Lansdowne Street on Saturday, March 15 for St. Paddy’s Saturday-A St. Patrick’s Day (ish) celebration. Beer braised brisket beef dips, tater McTotchos — a combination of tater tots and nachos — potato salad and more Irish-inspired menu items will be offered. The featured food items are limited, so be sure to ensure a spot through reservation, or get to the brewery early. Food will be served from 1 p.m to 8 p.m., and the outdoor patio may be open, weather permitting.
KELOWNA

If you need to spice up your St. Patrick’s Day a bit, spending the evening at Distrikt nightclub may be the place for you. With a fusion of Irish touch and Latin music, a party is guaranteed. From 9 p.m. to 2 a.m on Saturday, March 15 at 275 Leon Avenue, a mix of salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton tunes will sound through the speakers for a night of fun. Green attire is encouraged, and prizes for best dressed will be given out throughout the evening. Early birds can get a free cover charge for the event and skip waiting in line if at the door. To match traditional Irish energy, Hotel Eldorado, located at 500 Cook Road, is offering a night of Celtic music, beer and a grazing table to keep guests well fed. On Saturday, March 15 from 7 p.m to 12 a.m., guests can get ready to watch and join in traditional Celtic dancers to celebrate the holiday. With the purchase of a ticket for $60, guests can enjoy a complimentary pint of Guinness or a shamrock cocktail to begin the evening. For those who want to keep the party going, a St. Patrick's Day-themed brunch on Sunday is available for an additional $55 per guest. For those who like something a little extra social, this may be the event for you. Tickets can be booked here.
VERNON

If something with a bit of a slower pace is more your speed, try attending the Army, Navy and Air Force Club to watch the band AM/FM play some hits while enjoying a bowl or Irish stew on Saturday, March 15. Located at 2500 46 Ave., members can enjoy music from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for $10, while non-members will pay $15. What more could anyone want than a night of music and competition? The St. Patrick's Day Party and a shamrock scavenger hunt will be hosted on Monday, March 17 at The Longhorn Pub, located at 4513 25 Avenue. It will give attendees the chance of winning a prize, all while listening to a live musician. Dressing in all green to add to the fun is encouraged, though not necessary.
PENTICTON

For an exciting day of Irish food, drink and music, visit The Hub on Martin. Starting at 12 p.m. Monday, March 17, local talent The Rhindress will be playing their tunes until 1:30 p.m., with a short break between their next set at 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Following this act is Celtic fusion band KUJA Collective from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. For lunch, dinner and happy hour, $14 Cod and Chips, Irish Pachos and Shepherds Pie. Located at 260 Martin Street, reservations for this event are not needed, though the restaurant should fill up quickly with the lively music and festive food.

Head on down to Clancys Pub and Grill for Paddys Weekend Extravaganza to see Penticton's Folk-Rock trio, The Pubcrawlers, as well as Nigel Thomas and Travis Nick. On Saturday, March 15 the pub offers live music, a St. Patrick's Day menu and pub fare. On Monday, March 17 The Pubcrawlers are set to perform at 6:30 p.m. With beer specials, Irish food and Irish rock music.
