What you need to know for New Year's Eve in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - Whether you're looking for a night out with friends, or a kid-friendly event, New Year's Eve in Kamloops has got something for you.

If you're looking for family-friendly New Year's parties, you can check out the professional bullriding taking place in Barriere at the North Thompson AgriPlex. Admission is free for kids and doors open at 6 p.m. At 9:30 p.m., the dance floor will open for those 19 years and older. For more information on the event go here.

For those who want to stay in town, BOLD Pizzeria in Sahali is hosting a family night on Dec. 31. There will be punch, games, a photo booth, a dancefloor and more before the special 9 p.m. "midnight" countdown for the little ones. Tickets are available in the restaurant and more information can be found here.

Southwest Community Church in Aberdeen is hosting a family game night on New Year's Eve. There will be movies, popcorns and games. All ages are welcomed and you're encouraged to bring food and a game to share. For more information on the event, go here.

Sun Peaks will also be hosting several different events on Dec. 31 and a full list is available here.

If you're looking for something with adults-only for New Year's Eve, there are several options in the city.

Shark Club downtown will be hosting a speakeasy New Year's Eve party with the theme of 1920s. Semi formal and/or flapper attire is encouraged at this vintage event. The party will kick off at 9 p.m. For ticket prices and more information, go here.

The Duchess on Tranquille is also hosting a party, which is expected to go into the early hours of the morning. You can make reservations ahead of time. For more information and admission prices, go here.

If you want to start the celebrations early before heading to any of the midnight events, the Noble Pig is serving a six-course menu paired with a drink for each course. Tickets are going for $80, which includes drinks, taxes and gratuity. More information on the event, which runs from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., is available here.

CJ's Nightclub downtown is hosting a party which includes prizes, concert tickets, midnight champagne and balloon drops. Tickets for the event are available online and go for $12.50. Go here for full event information.

The Younguns, an Okanagan band, will be ringing in the new year at the Blue Grotto. Tickets are currently available for the 21 years and older show.
