A wildfire that was highly visible to Central Okanagan residents this weekend is now under control.

The Rose Valley wildfire started Sunday Aug. 2, and the cause is still under investigation, said Gagan Lidhran, information officer with the BC Wildfire Service.

The wildfire has not grown from three hectares in size over the last few days, and it's status has been changed to "under control," she said.

"What under control means is that the fire has received sufficient suppression action to ensure no further spread, which is very good news," Lidhran.

Nineteen wildfire crews are on scene today, partroling the fire, she said.
