Witness points to man in B.C. courtroom as gunman who ordered her out of her car

KELOWNA, B.C. - A tearful witness has testified about the day a man ordered her out of her car at gunpoint in West Kelowna, B.C.

Ashley Craig told B.C. Supreme Court that the man got out of a grey van stopped beside her car in July 2012.

She says the man pointed what she believes was a rifle at her shoulder and when she stepped out of her vehicle the man and two other males with him got in but didn't drive away.

Asked to point out the man in court, Craig pointed to Michael Ellis, who is charged with 22 offences, including five counts of attempted murder.

Craig was nearly speechless when asked how the incident impacted her, saying it scared to her.

RCMP allege Ellis fired shots at three Mounties during a car chase and shootout from West Kelowna to Vernon in July 2012. (CKFR)
