WEST KELOWNA – Two men who were arrested after a West Kelowna shooting over the weekend have been released without charges.

Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release RCMP are still looking for a suspect who shot and seriously injured a 33-year-old West Kelowna man shortly after 6 a.m. yesterday, Nov. 6.

Police received multiple 911 calls of shots fired in the 1800 block of Boucherie Road on Sunday and arrested a 36-year-old man and a 40-year-old man nearby.

“The two suspects that were previously arrested by police nearby the scene have since been released without charge,” O’Donaghey says in the release. “Investigators do not believe the public is at risk, as this was not believed to be a random attack as the victim knew his attackers.”

The victim’s injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening. The initial release from RCMP says bear spray was also used in the attack.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP General Investigative Section at 250-768-2880. Remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
