'SERIOUS BUT NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES'

WEST KELOWNA - Police have two men in custody after a shooting in a West Kelowna neighbourhood yesterday, Dec. 2.

West Kelowna RCMP were called to 3640 Granada Crescent at 12:35 p.m. In a release issued this morning, police would only confirm a weapon was involved in a report of a 'physical altercation'. A source at the scene said it was a shooting.

"A victim has been transported to hospital, with what police believe to be serious however non-life threatening injuries," RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey said in an email. "The investigation is in its early stages, however police can confirm that the incident was isolated and the general public is not at risk."

Neighbours said five RCMP vehicles and an ambulance were on scene. They said a man was taken away in an ambulance and they believe it was the home owner. It's unclear what condition he was in.

Two people were arrested. The West Kelowna RCMP General Investigations Section is investigating.
