Residents in the Pritchard neighbourhood of West Kelowna have been put under a boil water advisory, following a water main break at a construction site in the area.

According to a City of West Kelowna media release, residents in the Pritchard area should check an interactive map to determine whether they have been affected.

People affected by the boil water advisory should only use boiled water, brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute, to drink, brush teeth, making mixing baby formula or washing fruit and vegetables.

Alternatively, the City of West Kelowna is providing free clean water at the bulk filling station at Asquith and Shannon Lake Roads. Residents are advised to bring clean hoses and bottles for filling. The tap is located on the Asquith Road side of the station.

the City of West Kelowna says the water main break took place on a non-municipal construction site in the area and crews are working to repair the water main as quickly as possible. Once fixed, the water will need to be tested. The Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until further notice.

The interactive map can be found here.
