KELOWNA - A West Kelowna man's murder trial has been delayed until 2020.
Kevin Costin is charged with the second-degree murder of his 37-year-old wife Hazel Budiongan in 2015. Her body was found after a house fire at 2311 Boucherie Road in West Kelowna on Nov. 4, 2015. Her death was eventually ruled a homicide in 2016.
Costin, who is in his late 50s, was arrested on May 26, 2017, and charged with his wife's murder. He's also charged with arson damaging property and interference with a dead body.
Costin's trial was set to begin last week, but it's been delayed as Crown and defence lawyers discuss the case. Costin is set to appear in court this week, but due to a publication ban, information on the case is not allowed to be released.
The trial is scheduled to begin in March 2020.
