West Kelowna man seriously injured in single vehicle crash

A 21-year-old man sustained serious injuries after his vehicle went off the road in West Kelowna this morning.

West Kelowna RCMP officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 97 at Gellatly Road today, June 22, just before 2 a.m., according to an RCMP media release.

A Mazda pickup went off the road before catching on fire.

The West Kelowna Fire Department were on scene and extinguished the blaze.

The 21-year-old driver, a West Kelowna man, was transported to hospital by B.C. Emergency Health Services with serious injuries.

No one else was injured in the collision and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor, RCMP said.
