Osoyoos RCMP arrested a West Kelowna man who was on the run after allegedly committing assault in his hometown.

Cpl. Jason Bayda of the Osoyoos detachment says the 25-year-old was wanted out of West Kelowna and rented a hotel room in Osoyoos with the intention of hiding out, but was caught by police the day he arrived.

The man had no ties to the town or area and was arrested Feb. 28 without incident before being transported back to West Kelowna to face charges of assault causing bodily harm and obstruction.
