West Kelowna Firefighters want to fill the food bank

The holidays are a time of great need for West Kelowna’s local food bank, and the thousands of non-perishable items collected by West Kelowna Fire Rescue during the Christmas season can keep the shelves full right through the winter.

In 2015, the 18th annual food drive resulted in the collection of 12,000 pounds of food to help those in need.

West Kelowna Firefighters are volunteering their time to go door-to-door throughout the community collecting donations for the Okanagan Community Food Bank.

Firefighters will be collecting donations on the following two days:

Tuesday, December 6th, 6-9 pm

Wednesday, December 7th, 6-9 pm

Watch for firefighters in your neighbourhood to make your donation.

Donations for the Okanagan Community Food Bank can also be dropped off at Fire Station #31, 3651 Old Okanagan Highway, or Fire Station #32, 2708 Olalla Road at any time.
