KELOWNA - Police are still searching for a West Kelowna man who bolted right before he was to be sentenced last month for lacing pills with fentanyl.
Leslie McCulloch, 40, pled guilty to charges of production and possession of a controlled substance in early 2017. Although he tried to retract his guilty plea, he was set to be sentenced on Jan. 28. But when he was supposed to make an appearance in court a week prior on Jan. 21, McCulloch didn't show.
A Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for McCulloch on Jan. 22. On the Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers website, McCulloch is described as 271 lbs. and 5'11" with blonde hair and blue eyes.
McCulloch and Rebekka White were arrested in March 2016 after police raided a warehouse on Auburn Road and a home on Petterson Road. Police found more than 1,300 fake Percocet and OxyContin pills, 195 grams of what was suspected to be fentanyl, a chemical mixer, and two well-used industrial pill presses capable of making 2,500 pills per hour.
McCulloch pled guilty and was out on $15,000 bail when he skipped court last month.
According to court documents, White is scheduled to appear in court on Mar. 4.
