In an extremely rare – and possibly unique – move the City of West Kelowna has cancelled its regularly scheduled council meeting next week.
This is the first time since at least 2010 that such a meeting has been cancelled.
The City was incorporated on Dec. 6, 2007.
“Council certainly has a lot on the go, but some reports had to be pushed to Aug. 25, for various reasons, creating a lack of items for the Aug. 11 meeting,” West Kelowna spokesperson Jason Luciw wrote in an email to iNFOnews.ca.
“It was felt a considerable amount of resources would be poured into holding one short meeting and that it would be better to focus energies on a fuller meeting on Aug. 25.”
That meeting will include a public hearing and is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. in West Kelowna council chambers on Cameron Road.
