PENTICTON - Penticton residents were shocked and saddened by news of the death of a well known Penticton dentist.
Dr. Eric Ruby, 64, died suddenly in Mazatlan, Mexico on Friday, March 11, according to a Facebook post from the Okanagan Jewish Community Centre issued earlier today, March 15.
Dr. Ruby was a well known dental practitioner in the city and was considered a pioneer in the science of preventative dentistry, TMJ and sleep apnea.
He is survived by Linda, his wife of 44 years, daughters Alicia, and Jessica, his brother Stephen and his sister Marion.
Dr. Ruby enjoyed golfing and performed community work on behalf of the Penticton - Okanagan Rotary Club. He also played an active part in the international fight to end polio.
Dr. Ruby’s funeral will take place at the Penticton Lakeside Hotel on Friday, March 18 at noon, followed by burial at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kelowna.
