Western Canada Theatre
VW Turtle River Race Ticket Seller - Volunteers are needed to help Western Canada Theatre raise funds by selling raffle tickets for our 14th Annual VW Turtle River Race. Responsibilities include tracking the number of tickets sold during shifts, handling monies, documenting sales, and reporting to the fundraising coordinator. Event Volunteers - The AIMFoundation is looking for volunteers to help out with the Walk/Run Career Mentorship event on Sept. 27.  Volunteer positions: registration/info table, race crew, first aid station, and post-race volunteers. John Howard Society
Story Book Program Volunteers - The John Howard Society is looking for volunteers to help out with their Story Book Program at the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre (KRCC). This program is to promote family communication between the inmates and their families by having the inmates narrate a story book where the child will be able to listen and view the book at the same time. The volunteers record story books that are read by an inmate for a child member of their family. The volunteers will then send the CD with the story book to the intended recipient. We are looking for a one hour a week commitment. A Corrections Canada Clearance, as well as a Criminal Record Check are required. 19+ to Volunteer. 250-434-1700 Ext: 510.

Auxiliary Gift Shop Volunteers - Volunteers are needed to sell items, stock shelves, and assist residents with purchases. The volunteers should be reliable, responsible, enjoy spending time with seniors, comfortable giving change, and able to multitask. 19+ to volunteer. 250-554-5569.

General Maintenance Volunteers - The Kamloops Players Society are looking for volunteers to carry out the general maintenance of the theatre. Oncore Seniors Society
Telephone/Personal Shopping Volunteers - The volunteers will go grocery shopping with a senior or take grocery orders over the telephone and then shop for them at the North Kamloops Safeway in the Fortune Shopping Centre or at the Sahali Safeway in the Sahali Centre Mall (Thursday mornings). 17+ to volunteer. 250-828-0600.

Volunteer Kamloops
Volunteer Office Administrative Assistants - You can gain experience in your field in a supportive environment. A minimum requirement of 3-6 hours per week is required and preference will be given to applicants willing to put in a 6 month or longer time commitment. We are looking for a friendly and approachable individual to volunteer at the front counter in our downtown office. Written and verbal English proficiency is required. 250-372-8313.

Fish Tank Volunteer Assistants - Overlander Residential Care is in need of volunteers to assist our expert fish tank keeper with maintaining our fish tank. On Air/Off Air Radio Volunteers - CFBX is an entirely volunteer run and programmed radio station and is always looking for energetic and creative volunteers to help out on air and off air. The volunteers do not need to be TRU students to get involved. Many different positions: reception, database management, programming (music, spoken word, any language), on air hosting (any language), audio editing, interviewing, and writing. 14+ to volunteer. 250-377-3988.

Salvation Army - Thrift Store
Thrift Store Volunteers - Volunteers are needed for sorting, pricing, setting up displays, hanging clothes, organizing clothing racks, greeting customers and helping with their purchases. Schedules are set up in a way that works best for the volunteer and the agency. 16+ to volunteer. 250-376-1110.

Wildlife Park
Facilities Assistants - The volunteers will assist our Facilities Department with: regular park maintenance (raking, weeding, etc.), assembling and dismantling special event displays, and building or repairing enclosures.
