Weekend filled with live music, hockey and cultural celebration in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - Halloween festivities might have finished but that doesn't mean there's a shortage of events this weekend.

The Kamloops Hindu Cultural Society will be hosting the Diwali Gala at the Coast Kamloops Hotel and Conference Centre tonight, Nov. 2, starting at 5:45 p.m. The cultural event will feature Bollywood and traditional dances with music and include an Indian dinner. The Kamloops Blazers have a home game tonight, Nov. 2, against the Brandon Wheat Kings at the Sandman Centre. The puck drops at 7 p.m., for tickets go here.

Ducks Unlimited Canada will be hosting a special gala tonight, Nov. 2. Ducks Unlimited Canada is a not-for-profit organization that works to conserve wetlands throughout the country. Tonight's gala is a celebrating the organization's 50 years of presence in B.C. and will take place at the Colombo Lodge at 814 Lorne St. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the dinner starts at 7 p.m. There will also be a silent auction, raffle prizes and games. Pogue Mahone's pub on 843 Desmond St. hosts karaoke on Fridays starting at 9 p.m. Enjoy a fun night out with drinks specials at the Pogue Mahone Irish Alehouse.

A Tragically Hip Tribute Band will be performing at the On The Rocks Pub Saturday, Nov. 3, starting at 9 p.m. For tickets call 250-374-9761.

This weekend you can head down to Tumbleweeds Pub for a paint night from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4. The event is being hosted by 123Artful and for $40 your afternoon will be filled with creativity that includes paint materials and an apron. Go here for more information.
