Week ahead in Kamloops looking good weather-wise

Some hot weather is forecast to begin the week in Kamloops.

KAMLOOPS - Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist says the week ahead should be a “pretty nice week in general, and pretty typical weather conditions for this time of year.”

Lundquist says unsettled conditions on Wednesday and Friday might result in some showers, depending on one’s location.

“There’s a possibility of showers around mid-week and week’s end, with temperatures hot to start, but cooling off a little at the end of the week,” he says.

Today, Aug. 19, in Kamloops you can expect a mix of sun and cloud. It will be warm, with a high of 30 Celsius and a low of 12 C. Winds should become southeast at 20 km/h this afternoon before becoming light this evening.

The heat continues tomorrow with a high of 34 C expected under sunny skies in the morning, giving way to increasing cloudiness in the afternoon with winds becoming east at 20 km/h. Tomorrow’s overnight low is expected to be 16 C.

Wednesday should see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 31 C. The clouds continue into Wednesday night along with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a low of 14 C.

Sunny skies return Thursday with a high of 29 C.

On Friday, unsettled conditions return with clouds and a 30 per cent chance of showers once again. Friday will cool off a bit with a high of 26 C expected along with a low of 15 C.

The weekend looks pleasant, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 27 C expected on both Saturday and Sunday.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 27 C and lows of 13 C.
