Kamloops RCMP responded to a Brocklehurst home where a man was seriously injured this morning.

Multiple officers closed in on a home on the 2300 block of Bossert Avenue around 11:35 a.m., Jan. 31, where a person was assaulted with a weapon, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.

Police didn't say exactly how he was injured, but said there was an assault with a weapon. The victim is expected to survive after he was taken to hospital.

Kamloops RCMP didn't say what kind of weapon was used or whether they expected the public to be in danger. As the police investigation winds down, police say officers will still be in the Bossert Avenue area into the afternoon.

Police didn't say whether anyone was arrested or whether a suspect might have fled from officers. They also didn't say what prompted the response, only saying officers attended the home and found the injured man.

Kamloops RCMP did, however, ask the public for help.

“As people start to get home from work we ask that they please review their home security and dash cam footage to see if anything was captured that could be related to this incident," spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release.
