Water main upgrade will impact Main Street traffic

The intersection of Main and Carmi will be the site of a construction zone on Monday and Tuesday next week, June 29 and 30.

PENTICTON - The City is making preparations in advance of the Penticton Regional Hospital patient care tower expansion project, beginning next week.

Water main installation work will take place on Main Street at Carmi Avenue, beginning Monday, June 29. The project, which is necessary to provide adequate water for the upcoming hospital expansion, is expected to take two days and will reduce Main Street traffic to two lanes.

Carmi Avenue will be the route used for temporary road closures and detours in order to assist with the water main installation.

Residents are asked to obey traffic control personnel and posted speed limits through the work and detour areas.

Anyone with questions regarding the work should contact the City Engineering Department at 250-490-2500.
