Water main break slows traffic in Vernon

FILE PHOTO

VERNON – A water main broke in Vernon last night and crews are working to repair it today.

The City says crews were called last night, June 12, to the water main break on 27 Avenue and 43 Street, adding it was left overnight in a “controlled state.”

Traffic in the area is being impacted, according to a City of Vernon media release. The westbound lane of 27 Avenue between 41 Street and 43 Street is closed while crews work to repair the water main.

Drivers can use 26 Avenue to avoid the area.

The City doesn't say if service to any of its water customers is impacted.

The repairs should be finished by 3:30 p.m., the City says.
