VERNON - Multiple homes are without water this morning after a pipe broke in the Alexis Park area.

Roughly 15 homes on a cul-de-sac at 39 Avenue and 35 A Street are affected by the water main break, according to a media release from the City of Vernon.

City of Vernon crews are currently repairing the break and expect to restore service by 4 p.m. today, Nov. 17.

The break is the latest in a line of water woes experienced by the city. In August, a broken pipe flooded a section of Highway 97, and in September, a water main break led to damage at Kal Tire Place, and the cancellation of a Vernon Vipers game.

The city’s aging infrastructure has been identified as one of the main factors in the number of breaks.
