The Penticton Indian Band is warning the public it’s not safe to use the KVR trail on its land, and at the same time points out using the trail without band permission is trespassing.

The sections of the trail is private land owned by the Band, reads a public notice issued today, July 8.

“You are trespassing if you walk on this trail without the permission of the Band,” the notice reads.

“We are especially concerned for people entering the trail as it is washed out in several locations and dangerous for any use.”

Earlier this week a brush fire was started along the trail and the cause was not determined.
