Wanted West Kelowna man's vehicle found in Vernon

A wanted West Kelowna man's vehicle has been found in Vernon as police continue their search for Dayton Lloyd McAlpine.

McAlpine is wanted in connection to a violent assault and the Kelowna RCMP are asking for the public's help to track him down.

At approximately 10:50 p.m. on Jan. 5, Vernon RCMP officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 3700-block of 27th Avenue, according to a press release issued by the RCMP.

A witness saw a man and woman leave the vehicle on foot. Police officers, with assistance from Police Dog Services, searched the area but did not locate the individuals.

The vehicle was confirmed to be the 2009 white Ford Focus that McAlpine was said to be driving. 

The West Kelowna RCMP is still seeking information related to the whereabouts of McAlpine. McAlpine has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
