Heavily armed RCMP officers arrested a man wanted on several arrest warrants in West Kelowna yesterday for the second time this month.

Michael Collins, 43, was wanted on several charges including flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving while prohibited, according to an RCMP media release.

Collins was nabbed by RCMP in a similar high-risk arrest, Aug. 3, at a home in 3000 block of Cougar Road, in West Kelowna.

The accused was released from custody on Aug. 24 with “significant conditions," RCMP said.

The next day, police were notified he was not abiding by those conditions, and numerous attempts to arrest him failed.

With the help of members of the RCMP Southeast District Emergency Response Team, Collins was arrested yesterday, Sept. 1, at a home in West Kelowna.

He is being held in custody.

RCMP said no further information on this case will be released to the public at this time.
